Learning with Tim Holtz

I have no idea how this post will look when I publish... just one of those things I guess I'll figure out... I have a new laptop (or it's Keith's laptop) so my normal 'habits' are changing a little. This is good as it may actually force me to put some of my work on a blog vs just sending it to friends.

I have THOUROUGHLY enjoyed learning from Tim Holtz's "12 tags of Christmas" over the past 2 weeks... he has made something that I felt was 'scary' about as easy as baking a pie. That is if you have patience! I bought a few things last night, but alas my stash has helped me with this endeavour tonight.

These are all works I created using embossing tonight... I had wanted to make special gift tags for each member of my family so I just started tonight (instead of crunch time next weekend when I work all weekend....) I LOVE this tag I made for my Mom - if you can't tell, it's 3 dimensional... I cut the holly and boughs out, added a ribbon, sprayed some chipboard with glitter spray, painted the tag and there we are!

These cards were very fun. Absolutely Everything (AE), the store that has become part of my life blood, has dared me into trying things... yah, they did it! I bought a few stamps over the past few months that I just didn't know what I would do with. Plain 'stamping' just doesn't work for them. One of those is the card with the shell... i made this 3 dimensional also... I embossed the shell gold, cut it out and then used dimensional stickers to adhere.

The stocking stamp I bought last spring... I thought the only way this would look good is if I broke out the water color pencils and that's just not my favorite activity. I like it for some things, but not to 'create' something amazing! I used different embossing powders here and I am very pleased with the turn out.

Finally I have the stamps I bought last night... the santa! (And the holly and boughs)... WOW... I LOVE how that card looks!

Well... this is a new endeavour for me... I had fun playing... I am definitely a Gemini as I can always be humored by new things that I can accomplish!
